A message from the 2024 Mum Festival President
Welcome to the 65th Annual Tipp City Mum Festival!
The presidential election of 1840 saw William Henry Harrison ushered into office on the wave of popular support epitomized by the campaign slogan and song “Tippecanoe and Tyler Too”. Known as “Old Tippecanoe,” for his role in the Battle of Tippecanoe during the Northwest Indian War, Harrison’s term in office was brief, lasting just 31 days. However, Harrison’s impact is still felt in our town today as its namesake. It is with that legacy we usher in the 65th annual Tipp City Mum Festival with the theme of “Tippecanoe and Mum Fest Too!”
The festival activities kick off this summer with the Mum Festival Motorcycle Charity ride which takes place on August 24, 2024. All the proceeds from this ride benefit the Tipp City Needy Basket.
Festival weekend events begin Friday, September 27th with the Antique and Show Car Cruise In. This is one of the bigger car shows in the area and largest festival car show in Ohio.
Saturday morning, September 28th , the festivities begin with the Run for the Mums at 8 a.m. in the City Park, followed by the annual Mum Festival parade. The parade route travels down Main Street through historic downtown Tipp City. The parade begins at 10 a.m. with local and surrounding area bands, floats, and many other entertaining units.
After the parade, be sure to visit the festival at Tipp City Park, located at the intersection of North Third Street and Parkwood Drive. Visitors to the festival in the park will find over 250 booths with great arts and crafts, delicious treats, and wide variety of merchants. We also have a large stage providing wonderful entertainment from the best local talent.
Children, big and small, will enjoy Mum’s Kids Land on the tennis courts inside the park. Allow the kids to burn off some energy while playing on the inflatables and participate in other activities.
I am honored to serve as the president of the Mum Festival this year. I want to thank the committees and the volunteers who, without their efforts, we would not be able to put on this festival every year. Furthermore, I want to thank our numerous sponsors for their contributions to the Mum Festival. Without the help and support of these people and organizations, the Mum Festival would not be possible. Again, we thank everyone for their support and hope you enjoy the 65th annual Tipp City Mum Festival.
William H. House
